New Home Completed

This new home required furnishings befitting the casual elegance of the building style, and the homeowners' quest for a warm, stylish & inviting place to live and entertain. Custom made Cherry cabinets on either side of the fireplace house a media centre and storage. A matching fireplace mantle adds to the sense of warmth and completes the room. Transitional styling in the furnishings ensure a timeless look which will be fashionable, functional and attractive for years to come.

Beauty on a budget

How do you make a silk purse from a sow's ear on a teeny tiny budget? It's easy when you know how! In this home, the kitchen cabinets are recycled from another project, with granite tile counters, which are a fraction of the cost of solid material. Inexpensive but attractive lighting, along with laminate flooring (which looks pretty good) and plenty of homeowner labour helped to finish the space for a total of about $20,000.00.

Bathroom renovations

These homeowners wanted something special for their outdated 80's bathrooms. Both bathrooms were small and begged for a larger look and feel. In the ensuite bathroom (#1), this was accomplished by removing a complicated bath/shower and creating a large shower in the bay window, separated from the rest of the room by clear glass doors. A wall-hung vanity and accompanying mirror were designed to allow a sense of flow and space at the floor level. Slate on the floor and in the shower further promotes continuity in the room.

In the main bath (#2), the custom wall-hung vanity made from straight grained walnut paired with a 3-way mirror dramatically increased the sense of space and light in this interior room. The walnut top, glass sink and funky faucet on the vanity add to the clean lines, simplicity and continuity of the design.

1960's Bathroom Renovation

This bathroom was as bad as they get. To make the job more challenging, there was a limited budget available to get this room into shape. Creative use of inexpensive slate tile, recycling a piece of furniture for a vanity, and a great mirror found on sale helped to keep the budget in line. This allowed a little more to be spent on fixtures and a custom made shower curtain and Roman blind. The result - an appealing bathroom that didn't break the bank.

70's upgrade

This kitchen was dated and cramped for a family of four. A tiny eating area and limited counter space made the homeowners consider an extension on the back of the house. But in the end, we were able to reconfigure the existing space by removing 2 doors and a wall. The result was more space to work, increased storage and an incredible boost in the aesthetic value of the room. Contemporary stainless steel appliance, lighting and hardware contrasted with the warmth of traditional cherry cabinetry give the room lasting appeal.
