My rules for healthy and enduring design:

1. Try to buy locally first
2. Use materials that are renewed or are renewable; these tend to support good health have less impact on the environment
3. Reduce, reuse, recycle
4. Not everything has to be expensive or new; but it should be interesting
5. Don't get pulled too far into one trend or fashion - the result will likely be boring and short-lived. Instead, mix things up for an eclectic look that will satisfy for years
6. Less is more; don't forget to leave some bare space
7. Bring on the colour!
